I’m looking for a small group of knitters to take part in an event I’m planning at The Public in West Bromwich.
S&H have been asked by Trevor Pitt to take over the gallery for a day. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for some yarn bombing a la S&H hero Knitta .
To take part you need to be free on Saturday 16 October (times TBA) and be able to get to West Bromwich under your own steam. S&H may be able to cover the cost of travel (train or meto tickets).
If you are interested in getting involved please email me info[at]stitchesandhos.co.uk no later than 3 September 2010 for more information.
It was a quiet edition of our monthly knitting hootenanny. Maybe everyone was enjoying the sunshine. I don’t blame them really.
A big thanks to everyone who came along. Especially to Clare and Dave for providing sounds to stitch to
Trevor Pitt also came along to launch his knitted bench project with us. Trevor has been inviting knitting groups from around the country to cover a garden bench in knitting. The 2 seater benches will then be exhibited together and be used to help teach people to knit.
So stitches and hos will be knitting a bench for the project using Baa Baa Black Sheep wool a blend of Jacob, Wensleydale and mixed breed sheep wool. We’ll keep you posted about our progress.
Here are a few pictures from the night
