Yarningham Ko-fi Page

We’ve set up a Ko-fi donation page to help raise £200 towards a bigger marquee at Yarningham.

Marquee pitched in the grounds of Uffculme Centre.

Our venue, Uffculme Centre, has beautiful grounds where for the weekend of Yarningham we pitch a marquee.  The marquee is home to demonstrations from the local WSD Guild, workshops, a winding station & most importantly our delicious cake stand.

Needle Felting Workshop led by Denise Liebermann housed in the marquee

The marquee also houses the social area, a place with tables and seating for meeting friends, planning shopping & eating cake.

Social area seating and our cake stand in the background.

Our current marquee measures 9 x 9m and costs £700 to hire. The next biggest marquee is 9 x 12m and costs £900 to hire. We would love to increase the size of the marquee to allow for more space for everything. However our budget doesn’t allow for this extra cost.

A simple way to cover this extra cost would be to increase the price of our marketplace tickets.  Marketplace tickets have remained the same since the start of the festival in 2016.  We have already had to increase marketplace tickets by £1 for the next festival to help cover other rising costs.

So we are asking you, our audience to buy us a Ko-fi (that is to make a small donation that roughly equals the price of a coffee) and help raise the extra £200 needed for a bigger marquee.

You can make your donation on our Ko-fi page here

We are very pleased to welcome back members from the Birmingham and District Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers (BGWSD) who will be demonstrating their skills within the social space at Yarningham.

BGWSD meets once a month, on the second Saturday at The Friends Meeting House, Cotteridge, Birmingham.  They have speakers, workshops, members days and an annual exhibition.

It’s a great place to come for advice or just to meet and chat other like minded people. BGWSD welcome all those interested in their crafts and related textiles, whether an enthusiastic beginner or highly skilled expert.

Members will have a variety of wheel, spindles and looms for you to try and will be on hand to answer your questions.

We are so pleased that our new festival friends Loch Ness Knit Fest will be joining us at Yarningham this year.

They will be sharing all things Loch Ness Knit Fest with you including their fabulous marketplace, workshop programme and festival capers.

Just like them you can take advantage of a new direct flight between Birmingham and Inverness.  It’s easier than you think.

Loch Ness Knit Fest will be in our new social area ready to answer questions about their festival and tell you their best Nessie stories.
