Boris and Donald Enamel Badges

enamelbadge

I always wanted to be the milk monitor at primary school so I could have an enamel badge. I never did make it as milk monitor but the universe has a strange way of giving you what you need, not what you want.

So 30-odd years later I finally have the enamel badge of my dreams.  I present to you our Yarningham mascots Boris and Donald on an enamel badge.

A massive THANK YOU to the talented Ruth Green for designing the badge.

Our Boris and Donald enamel badges will be available exclusively from the Yarningham merchandise stand.  Badges are £7 each.

Advanced tickets for Yarningham Marketplace are available here for £5 (+ booking fee).

Stitches and Hos are thrilled to have been invited to take part in this year’s Made in Kings Heath Open Studios Trail.

The open studios take place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November 2017.  The trail comprises 13 artists/makers showcasing their work over 3 venues.

Made in Kings Heath aims to bring together artists living and working in the Kings Heath area of Birmingham to share, exhibit and promote their work.  Founded by ceramicist Melanie Keevil and textile artist Emma Jackson, the first Made in Kings Heath event took place in the Autumn of 2014.

For this year’s event Stitches and Hos will be exhibiting our hand knitted homewares and gifts at the studio of Ruth Green Design, one of the new venues added this year.  Also exhibiting at Ruth’s studio are Ruth Green (prints), Sue Bibby (embroidery), Clare Wainwright (stained glass) and Giles Hughes (mixed media & painting).

You can find a trail map and more information on the Made in Kings Heath website.

Another edition of our little knitting hootenanny.  It seems that most of you stitchers are on your holidays or at least enjoying the long evenings.   I can hardly blame you really – who doesn’t enjoy summer?

A very big thank you to Simon and Ruth for providing sounds to stitch to. Simon dealt with the request for speed garage very well I thought.  Wichita Lineman is speed garage, isn’t it?

Here are a few pictures from the evening.  See you in August
