April 2018 Hootenanny

Wednesday evening saw the April edition of our monthly hootenanny.  Thanks to everyone who braved the cold, wet and miserable weather.  There may be little sign of spring but it didn’t put off us stitchers.

Our next stitch up is Wednesday 9 May 6-9pm at Tilt.  Until then happy stitching.

March 2018 Hootenanny

Thanks to everyone who came to our March hootenanny last week.  It was great to meet some new faces and see our regulars.

The night was a bit of a disaster on my part.  I forgot to bring the yarn I needed to work on my project so spent the evening watching other people stitch.

Here is the only photo I managed to take.

Hootenanny review – January 2018

Last week Wednesday saw our first hootenanny of the year.

We are starting to build up a regular crew of stitchers who join us each month for some stitching and a pint.  This has got me thinking about doing some sort of public knitting project again.  I’m not sure whether it should be a knit graffiti project or something else.  Best to leave it with me for a while.  These things take time.

If you have any suggestions for projects feel free to get in touch.  We always like to hear from you.  You can send us an email or get in touch via our Facebook page.

Our next hootenanny is on Wednesday 14 February.  More details on our website.  Until then here are a few poorly lit photos from last week.

December Hootenanny Reminder

knittingondeck

So next week will see our last hootenanny of the year.  It’s been really fun resurrecting our monthly meet ups.  We’ve met some wonderful stitchers and I’ve actually got some knitting done too!

We will be back in 2018 with more hootenannies, details to follow shortly.

So pack a project and come get your stitch on with us.

All are welcome, you don’t even have to be good!

November Hootenanny

Last night was our November Hootenanny.  A big thank you to all the stitchers who came along to get their stitch on.

Here are a few pictures from last night including a beautiful Sanquhar jumper that I am plotting to steal and a visit from BCU Crafty Bitches group.  It was great to meet you all.

October Hootenanny

Last night saw the return of our monthly hootenannies.   It was great to meet some new stitchers and to see some old faces.   There was stitching aplenty, lots of tea drunk and a discussion about the new Blade Runner film.

Here’s a couple of pics from last night, including one of me proving that the seemingly small section of ribbing I was knitting will in fact go around my large head.

Our next hootenanny is Wednesday 8 November, 6-9pm at Tilt.  You can find out more information on our website here.

WWKIP day @ Sin Eater Festival

On Saturday we held a hootenanny at Sin Eater Festival to celebrate World Wide Knit In Public Day.

A big thank you to David and Liz from Sin Eater for hosting us, everyone who came to get their stitch on and most of all to the knitting weather gods who supplied us with some sunshine.  DSC_0004DSC_0005DSC_0009DSC_0010
