A little teaser…

We are delighted that Ellen of Mrs Lam Yarns agreed to create 2 custom colourways for Yarningham 2019.

We asked Ellen to use Birmingham as her inspiration, otherwise she had free reign to create what she wished.

We can’t wait to show you the results of Ellen’s dyeing efforts, but for now we’re just going to tease you with this image of Ikon Gallery surrounded by spring blossom.

The Mrs Lam Yarns Yarningham custom colourways will be available exclusively from Yarningham merchandise stall.

Transportation Socks by Rebecca Milton

Here’s a little sneak preview of our second exclusive pattern designed by Rebecca Milton.

We also gave Rebecca a wide brief asking that she take inspiration from something about Birmingham.

Rebecca chose to focus on Birmingham as a transport hub at the centre of the UK.

“The lacy pattern panels down the side of the sock represent the barges and boats using the canals of Birmingham, and the twisted cable pattern in the centre represents the road network—’Spaghetti Junction’.  The cables on the second sock will be reversed, so that the socks mirror each other, rather than being identical.”

We can’t wait to show you the finished pattern.  Rebecca’s pattern will be available in Yarningham 2019 show brochure given free to everyone who attends Yarningham Marketplace.

Highbury Halter Top by Jimenez Joseph

A sneak preview of our first exclusive pattern designed by Jimenez Joseph.

We gave Jimi a wide brief asking for the design to be inspired by something from or about Birmingham.

Taking influence from Birmingham’s multicultural qualities: Asian textiles, park landscapes and the cities architecture, Highbury Halter Top is a youthful and playful design.”

We can’t wait to show you the finished pattern.  Jimi’s pattern will be available in Yarningham 2019 show brochure given free to everyone who attends Yarningham Marketplace.
