Meet Imogen Morris. Imogen is a Birmingham based embroidery artist who creates hand stitches pieces in a polygonal style.
Imogen hand stitches triangles to form a mesh-like frame that creates the form of an image. The hard, jagged shape of the triangle contrasts with the softness of the embroidery thread.
The subjects of Imogen’s work ranges from animals, portraiture and more recently, Imogen has been creating large scale abstract pieces. However, the two elements that always remain in her practice are thread and the shape of the triangle.
Imogen will be teaching a polygonal embroidery workshop on Saturday 11 July exploring geometric design. The workshop is open to all and no embroidery experience is needed.
