Yarningham on Knit British podcast

We’re very pleased that Yarningham has been mentioned in the latest episode of the Knit British podcast.

The podcast also features an interview with Sylvie of Phileas Yarns, talking about how her travels inspire the sumptuous colours of her yarn.

You can listen to the podcast here.  The interview with Sylvie starts around 25mins.

Don’t forget that Phileas Yarns will be taking part in the Yarningham marketplace.  You can find more information about Yarningham on our website here.

Under Construction

Please excuse our website while we build a new one.

Most of the content has now gone apart from the blog posts.  If all goes to plan the new website will be up very soon.

Instagram account

We now have an Instagram account.  You can follow our stitched antics here

Spring has sprung

Early on Saturday morning members of S&H Knit Graffiti Faction celebrated the arrival of spring by leaving waterlilies and daffodils in a fountain somewhere in Birmingham.

Did you spot our colourful spring offering?

DIY flyers

I’ve ‘designed’ a flyer for our beginners knitting and crochet classes Pick Me Sticks and Hook Me Up.

I say ‘designed’ as they’re pretty simple & I’m sure that an actual designer would have produced something much better. However, I’m really proud of the design. I also learnt how to make text follow any shape or line I want in Photoshop (they key is paths in case you’re wondering).

I’ve printed them on brightly coloured card on our home printer.

A little teaser

A group of S&H stitchers are working on a top secret project.  I can’t tell you anything about it (yet) but I can show you some photos of our work in progress.

Don’t forget our monthly knitting hootenanny is tomorrow eve (Tues 29 March) from 7:30pm in back bar at Hare and Hounds.

stitches and hos on Radio WM (again)

stitches and hos were on the radio again.  Our Easter Egg Hunt event at Wolverhampton Art Gallery got a mention on Radio WM drivetime on Wednesday.

You can listen to it here (we’re at 51mins in).  After our mention the DJ then plays Pet Shop Boys – Always On My Mind.  I couldn’t have done a better link myself

Don’t forget our one off special at Wolverhampton Art Gallery is 31st March, 6-9pm.  For more details look here

radio WM interviews

last year there was a bit of a media frenzy around Stitches and Hos.  It all started with The Birmingham Post wanting to write an article about us.  Within a week we were asked to do a radio interview with Janice Long on Radio WM.

Unfortunately Janice was unable to interview us as she was stuck in Liverpool after switching on Blackpool Illuminations.  So here we are myself, Pip and Juliet with Jimmy Franks quite early on a Saturday morning in September 2008.
