Plan your visit – places to meet, eat and drink

Places to meet, eat and drink

Uffculme has an onsite cafe serving light meals, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks and snacks. There will also be a dedicated cake stand serving delicious home made treats.
There is also plenty of outdoor space at the venue so if you want to bring a picnic rug and your own picnic, please do.

Uffculme is a very short walk away from Kings Heath High Street, which has a wide variety of places to eat and drink, including Bloom, (pictured below) a place where speciality coffee meets considered food, Grace + James, a wine shop, bar and deli and The Early Bird, a coffee shop and bakery

Just a short walk from the venue is Moseley Village, where you can find The Village Pub, that serves meals, snacks, soft drinks and tipples; Lewis’s, (pictured below) a neighbourhood cafe & restaurant; Damascena, serving coffee, tea and a selection of delicious food.

Raffle Prizes

We are delighted to be supporting this year’s charity RSVP with a raffle.

RSVP (Rape and Sexual Violence Project) are an award-winning organisation working with survivors of sexual violence and abuse in Birmingham and Solihull to cope with trauma and rebuild wellbeing, confidence and hopefulness. They support survivors of any age, and any gender with therapeutic and practical services, including specialist support for LGBT and asylum-seeking/refugee survivors as well as sex workers.

Our exhibitors and audience have donated a bumper prize pot and here’s a little teaser of what you could win. There is also a star prize that we can’t wait to share with you, but more on that later.

We want to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated a prize. Your generosity will help us raise funds for this vital service.

Raffle tickets will cost £1 each or £4 for 5 tickets and will be available only at Yarningham merchandise stand located in the main hall.

Advanced tickets for Yarningham Marketplace are £5 (+ booking fee) and available here.

A little teaser…

Ellenshek4

We are delighted that Ellen of Mrs Lam Yarns agreed to create 2 custom colourways for Yarningham 2019.

We asked Ellen to use Birmingham as her inspiration, otherwise she had free reign to create what she wished.

We can’t wait to show you the results of Ellen’s dyeing efforts, but for now we’re just going to tease you with this image of Ikon Gallery surrounded by spring blossom.

The Mrs Lam Yarns Yarningham custom colourways will be available exclusively from Yarningham merchandise stall.

Boris and Donald Enamel Badges

enamelbadge

I always wanted to be the milk monitor at primary school so I could have an enamel badge. I never did make it as milk monitor but the universe has a strange way of giving you what you need, not what you want.

So 30-odd years later I finally have the enamel badge of my dreams.  I present to you our Yarningham mascots Boris and Donald on an enamel badge.

A massive THANK YOU to the talented Ruth Green for designing the badge.

Our Boris and Donald enamel badges will be available exclusively from the Yarningham merchandise stand.  Badges are £7 each.

Advanced tickets for Yarningham Marketplace are available here for £5 (+ booking fee).

Cake

Yarningham_Day1-55

You can’t have a yarn festival without cake.  But don’t worry Team Yarningham have got all your sweet treat needs covered.

We will have a delicious selection of cakes baked by Blueberry Hill Patisserie who do quite wonderful things with eggs, butter and flour. There will be vegan options available.

And thanks to feedback and recommendations from our audience, we will also have gluten free cakes from Paisley Immy Cakes.
